Devices for cancer detection through blood droplet

Researchers from the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto are developing two devices “autonomous and cheap” that will allow early detection of cancer. According to Goreti Sales and Lúcia Brandão, responsible for the projects, the goal is to create easy handling devices, similar to those used for reading glucose in people with diabetes.
The 3 P’s project (plastic antibodies, photovoltaics, plasmonics ), led by researcher Goreti Sales, the BioMark laboratory belonging to the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP), encompasses three areas of knowledge that “never met before.” (…)
